Offspring release their third album Smash on April 8, 1994.
Independent record label Epitaph releases the album and it sells over 6 million copies making it the best-selling independent releases of all-time. It’s the only album by which the band is known simply as Offspring.
Major label Columbia Records signs the band and they become The Offspring.
