Metallica: Live in Irvine, California – September 23, 1989 (Full Concert)

Filmed on Lars’ personal camcorder at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA on September 23, 1989 …

Metallica Monday.
On a Wednesday.
I’m late.

We’re off to never-never land …

The Black Album is released on August 12, 1991. The album debuted at number one in ten countries and spent four consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, making it Metallica’s first album to top album charts. By June 2018, the album spent 488 weeks on the Billboard album chart, making it one of the ten longest running discs of all time. The Black Album is one of the best-selling albums worldwide, and also one of the best-selling albums in the United States selling over sixteen million copies in the United States.

The memories remain …

Late in 1981 an ad in The Recycler, an LA weekly, reads: “Drummer looking for other metal musicians to jam with Tygers of Pan Tang, Diamond Head and Iron Maiden.” Guitarists James Hetfield and Hugh Tanner of Leather Charm answered the advertisement and on March 14, 1982, Metallica makes their live debut on the Radio City stage in Aneheim, California.
