First Listen: Mountain Man, ‘Magic Ship’

I first heard Mountain Man in — I think it was 2010. I had no idea who they were, they were like #4 on the bill and no one was paying attention. Including me. But those voices stopped the whole scene in their tracks. Including me.

The vocal trio’s first album in eight years is most potent when heard in full, from beginning to end, ideally on a back porch.

h/t to Ms. Marla for sharing. The new album is pre-purchased and we now patiently wait.

Every now and then, you hear something that slaps you along side the head and makes you pay attention. These guys opened up Yum Yum Fest 2014. If you’re anywhere near where these guys are playing, drop what you’re doing, go there and behold. The future of rock n’ roll is in good hands.

PS: Thanks, Tag.
