Rid of Me 

Polly Jean’s second album is actually performed by her self-titled band, Polly Jean Harvey, featuring PJ on guitar and vocals, Rob Ellis on drums and back ground vocals and Steve Vaughan on bass.

Released on May 4, 1983, it caused critics to gush and the album is now #406 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

It becomes what’s now known as an “instant indie classic.”  It spawns 3 singles, a couple of Grammy nominations and a song that, though one of the darkest and most depressing songs around, shines like a literary classic.
