Last-minute surprises and secretive moves hide Wisconsin lawmakers’ actions from public view

Robin Vos — who has yet to meet a pay-to-play scam he doesn’t love — really out-kicked his coverage on this one. VOTE!

Within 30 minutes, without any public hearings or public notice, lawmakers had endorsed one of the biggest tax breaks enacted under Gov. Scott Walker. Within 13 days, the Republican-led Assembly and Senate had approved the 2011-13 spending plan, including the tax cut, which Walker signed into law.

Glenn Grothman: Pell Grants discourage marriage

Glenn Grothman has “heard it from several people.”  “If you don’t get married, it’s easier to stay in poverty and get Pell grants.” This is almost as stupid as his comment that the Martin Luther King Jr holiday is an “insult to taxpayers” or “you could argue that money is more important to men than to women.”

Almost.

Glenn Grothman is a U.S. Congressman from Wisconsin. We apologize – again – to the rest of the country.

Jeezaloo – I’d forgotten about a couple of these bat-shit out there comments from Grothman.  Probably because we’ve forgotten about him. Probably because the WIS GOP has him in lock-down somewhere up north so he doesn’t say anything goofier between now and election day.

Republican voters in the Fox Valley don’t care. All they see is an “R” and they pull the lever. It’s in their DNA.
