The Church release their 10th album on January 12, 1996.
The Harry Houdini – inspired album that almost never was made. Steve Kilby and Mary Wilson-Piper were without a label after their previous album but started work on new music in 1995. Kilby and original bandmate Peter Koppes rekindled their friendship which led to 4 “Koppes” tunes on the album.
The band released the album on their own label but couldn’t get distribution in the USA. They found a solution but the distribution company went bankrupt and they lost all their US sales in the process.
