John Wesley Harding

John Wesley Harding

Orpheus releases his eighth album on December 27, 1967.

The folkies are breathing a sigh of relief as it’s basically a return to some acoustic Dylan after a series of rock albums. JWH is well received all the way around becoming one of Dylan’s most successful albums in terms of sales. Artistically, it’s hard to find a set of tunes better crafted including the fav of many, “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight.”

John Wesley Harding is #301 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
