The soundtrack to the Coen Brothers film turns 20 today — released on December 5, 2000. Produced by T Bone Burnett and featuring the talents of Alison Krauss, The Stanley Brothers, Sam Bush, Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings, Dan Tyminski, Emmylou Harris and more, the album introduced country and bluegrass to a whole new audience. The soundtrack has sold over 8 million albums. It won a bunch of Grammys including one for Ralph Stanley’s acapella performance of “O Death.”
