The Trinity Session

The Trinity Session

Recorded at The Church of the Holy Trinity in Toronto, Cowboy Junkies release their second album on November 15, 1988.

The Trinity Session is the album that introduced the world to Cowboy Junkies and was recorded with the band circled around just one  Calrec Ambisonic mic. They used some imagination getting the Church of the Holy Trinity to book the band — Margo reserved the space as The Timmins Family Singers Christmas Special.

The album is a mix of rock, folk and country and I guarantee — it’s the only album where you can hear a version of Hank Williams’ “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane.”
