Kate’s seventh and last album before her 12-year break ~ released on November 2, 1993. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Prince lend a musical hand in the studio.
The album is paired with Bush’s short film, The Line, the Cross and the Curve and comes about during a time of personal upheaval. Both her mother and her favorite guitarist pass a year before the album’s release and her relationship with band mate Del Palmer ends.
They’ve been incredibly intense years for me. Maybe not on a work level, but a lot has happened to me. I feel I’ve learnt a lot – and, yes, I think [my next album] is going to be quite different… I hope the people that are waiting for it feel it’s worth the wait.Kate Bush
