June 4, 1979 — Fleetwood Mac gathers the USC Trojan Marching Band and a crew of hundreds at Dodger Stadium to record the title track to “Tusk,” the follow-up to “Rumours.” The album is released on October 12, 1979.
The band’s a mess — John McVie is battling with Buckingham. But no matter — Mick Fleetwood’s brainchild comes to fruition and the film crew captures enough for an official video. Fleetwood Mac presents the USC Trojan Marching Band with a Platinum record the following year.
